St. Catharines – The Brock University Students’ Union has launched its Provincial Elections Awareness Campaign to get students involved and informed in advance of the Provincial Election and Referendum.
“Elections awareness is very important; this is a chance for students speak for themselves” said Vice-President, University Affairs Damien O’Brien. “The response from candidates has been positive, with one exception all of the local candidates will be on campus for our all-candidates debates” he continued. Elections Ontario and the Department of Residences have also been positive actors said O’Brien “its great to have the support of the University community, as well as Elections Ontario”.
BUSU will be hosting two forums, one for the candidates in St. Catharines on Tuesday October 2nd at noon, and the second for the candidates in Welland (which includes South St. Catharines, Thorold and Brock University) on Wednesday, October 3rd again at noon and both in the After Hours Lounge of the DeCew Residence.
