BUSU & Boston Pizza to hold a fundraiser for students involved in house fire

The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) and Boston Pizza are teaming up to help the rebuilding process for the four (4) students involved in the West St. Catharines house fire early on Sunday November 2nd 2008. “When we (BUSU) heard about this fire we immediately started thinking of ways to help these student’s, we were able to put together a clothing drive and donate food vouchers to them. These were well received but we wanted to find a way to do more, we wanted to help them financially,” commented BUSU President, Jody Thomas. The next step in BUSU’s efforts will be a partnership between BUSU and Boston Pizza. This Wednesday November 12th 2008 where Boston Pizza has graciously offered to donate 5% of all sales to the four (4) students involved in the fire. “BUSU and Boston Pizza have worked together in the past few years on different projects. This is just another example of how the students and their community can come together and help those in need. I encourage everyone to come out on November 12th for a fun night, and most importantly to help these students. I can’t even imagine what they must be going through right now. Helping them get back into a somewhat normal student life is the least we can do.”

The Brock University Students’ Union was established in 1971, and is a not-for-profit student organization, representing approximately 17,000 undergraduate students.
