The Ontario government has finalized the details about the new Textbook and Technology Grant, available this year. It is an annual grant beginning at $150 this year, and increasing over time to $300 per academic year, designed to offset the cost of textbooks and computers for post-secondary education. This is a “universal” grant available to all students who qualify.

There are only two restrictions on eligibility: Applicants must be full-time University or College students Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons. More details on eligibility are available at www.ontario.ca/OSAP

Students who have already applied to OSAP are automatically assessed this grant. Eligible full-time students who have not applied for OSAP are encouraged to fill out a short online application for the grant. This can be found at www.ontario.ca/OSAP

If you are studying for one term only, you must submit your application within the first 30 days of your study period. If you are studying for two or three terms, you must apply no later than 90 days before the end of your study period.

BUSU encourages all eligible students to apply for this free, additional funding to help with the rising costs of post-secondary education.
