The Brock University Students' Administrative Council has two equally important jobs. The in-meeting component of BUSAC is vital to BUSU’s governmental structure; however, some of the most impactful changes come from the committee work of councillors and members. BUSAC committees are formed to take a more analytical and procedural approach to many of the services and issues that affect students’ everyday lives. Committee responsibilities range from overseeing the Universal Bus Pass and Health / Dental Plan, to ratifying clubs and approving club funding requests, to administering BUSU’s various elections. These are just a sampling of the 12 Standing Committees within BUSAC. Over and above these 12, each year various Ad-Hoc (Temporary) Committees or Task Forces are struck to deal with pressing or priority issues. BUSAC committees provide a great opportunity for students to work with their elected representatives. Within each committee’s membership there is a requirement for “Students-at-Large.” These S.A.L. come from the student population and are placed on the committees to offer input, new ideas, votes and more student perspectives in the happenings of their Students’ Union. If you would like to have more information about the various committees or how you can get involved with either BUSAC or as a Student-at-Large, please contact BUSU’s Deputy Speaker at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
