The Ombudsperson for Students is a designated neutral party, who provides confidential and informal assistance to students in resolving university-related concerns. This service is available to all undergraduate and graduate students.
The Office of the Ombudsperson for Students is independent of the Students’ Union and University’s administrative structure and considers all sides of an issue in an impartial and objective manner.
The Student Ombudsperson has no authority to order the change of policy or procedure but can recommend strategies and options for resolution.
It is important to note that the Student Ombudsperson does not act as an advocate for individual students, student groups, or the University. Rather, the Student Ombudsperson is here to assist students, faculty and administration as they work through academic and non-academic issues that effect the University and members of its community.
